30th Anniversary Celebration Jim Bowman - Senior Technical Director
Jim Bowman, Sr. Technical Director, celebrates his 30th Anniversary with Hill Top Research. As Jim stated at his 30th Anniversary party, "the reason that I have stayed around so long is that it is so enjoyable to work with the wonderful people that are Hill Top Research."
Jim has been recognized as our resident expert and thought leader for the statistical and technical aspects of clinical testing at Hill Top Research. His clinical research experience includes safety testing such as patch testing, photo testing and use tests, as well as experience in testing for product efficacy. He has contributed to publications on antiperspirancy, deodorancy, comedogenicity, dry skin, bioinstrumentation, cumulative irritation, patch testing, oral malodor, oral care (gingivitis, plaque, stain, shade, calculus) and microbiology testing.
Jim also has experience in operations management (as Assistant Operations Manager of Hill Top's New Jersey lab, as Director of Operations for Hill Top's Ohio branch). He has unified the activities of the company Technical Directors, as Senior Technical Director, and has coordinated all of Hill Top's statistical services since 1989 (as Technical Director/ Biostatistician). Jim has been the statistician of record for thousands of studies conducted at Hill Top Research in the areas of personal care, microbiology, oral care and sensory testing. Data from HTR studies has stood up to the scrutiny of network advertising review, the NAD and the courts. Jim has appeared for deposition several times for claims substantiation cases.
Jim holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from Miami University and an M.S. in Biostatistics from the University of Cincinnati. He has over 70 publications/presentations to his credit. Recent presentations have been given at the Skin Club, Rutgers University, the SCC Meeting in NYC, the HBP Congress in Sao Paula Brazil, and the Dental Task Force Meeting.
He is a member of the American Statistical Association, the American Society for Testing Materials, the International Association of Dental Research and the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
